Grippi Fund Will Benefit Three Organizations

A bequest from the estate of Mary G. Grippi of Meadville has been used to establish a permanent charitable endowment with the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation. A percentage of the Joseph B. and Mary G. Grippi Fund will be paid to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church (Meadville, Pennsylvania), St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, TN) and Hospice of Crawford County every year, in perpetuity. The foundation estimates that more than $2,600 in grants will be given to each organization in 2019.

“Mary Grippi’s obituary noted her kind and giving heart. She was certainly what I would call a philanthropist. Her bequest is a final gesture from someone who strongly believed in giving back to her community. The fund ensures that she will continue to help her church and causes she faithfully supported. She and her husband Joseph will always be remembered for their generosity. We hope others will follow Mary’s example,” says Christian Maher, Executive Director.
