Organizational Endowments

 

Churches, non-profit agencies and other organizations can use the foundation for responsible, long-term management of their endowment funds. Organizational Endowments under our management include:

 

Academy Theatre Endowment Fund

Established in 1885, the Academy Theatre presents quality arts performances to the Meadville community. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

ARC of Crawford County, Inc. Endowment Fund
The Arc of Crawford County provides community based services and supports that increase the quality of life for individuals with mental challenges. Established in 1952, they work to advocate for change and increase the understanding of the needs and desires of individuals with mental challenges and their families. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

George J. Barco and Yolanda Barco Special Projects/Needs Fund
An agency endowment fund established by the Barco-Duratz Foundation to perpetuate the work of the United Way of Western Crawford County.

 

Bethesda Children’s Endowment Fund
Bethesda Children’s Home/Lutheran Social Services (LSS) is an outreach of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and provides behavioral health services to children and their families. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

Blooming Valley Cemetery Association Endowment Fund

An organizational endowment established by the Blooming Valley Cemetery Association and transferred to the Crawford Heritage Foundation in 2010. It provides for the maintenance of Blooming Valley Cemetery.

 

Myron S. Cadwallader Fund
An organizational endowment established in memory of Myron S. Cadwallader to benefit the YMCA of Titusville. The YMCA is committed to helping people build healthy spirit, mind and body.

 

Center for Family Services Endowment Fund

Center for Family Services, Inc. helps people and families in Crawford County during times of crisis. Food is distributed from several locations to alleviate hunger. Clothing is provided to those who lack adequate attire. People are taught budgeting to help them live within their means. Short-term direct assistance with rent and utility payments is given when extenuating circumstances cause people to fall behind in payments. Housing counselors assist those at-risk of losing their homes. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

Cochranton Presbyterian Church Memorial Endowment Fund

The fund is a permanent source of support for the religious, educational and charitable activities of Cochranton Presbyterian Church. It was established through the generosity of members and friends of the church who wished to have their gifts permanently endowed.

 

Crawford County Historical Society, Inc. Endowment Fund I & II
The Crawford County Historical Society was established in 1879 to preserve and interpret the history of the county; to make its artifacts and archives accessible to the public; to encourage restoration and preservation of our built history and other real property; and to promote the county’s cultural, economic and educational heritage. These endowments help to support their mission.

 

Crawford County Literacy Council, Inc. Endowment Fund
The Crawford County Literacy Council sponsors the Crawford County READ Program, which works to increase adult and family literacy by insuring that county residents improve their functional reading, writing, and math competencies so they may better meet and cope with adult responsibilities. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

French Creek Recreational Trails Endowment Fund

French Creek Recreational Trails repurposed a disused section of Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad line to create the Ernst Trail in 1996. The paved and landscaped path is open for public use at no charge. It is used for a range of activities including walking, running, bicycling and rollerblading. This endowment, established with a gift from the estate of Tom McNally, supports maintenance of the trail.

 

Family & Community Christian Association Endowment Fund
The Family & Community Christian Association meets the needs of families, children and community by offering programs and services based on Christian principles. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

George S. DeArment Organizational Endowment for the United Way
The George S. DeArment Organizational Endowment for the United Way supports that organization’s mission to educate the public with respect to health and human service needs and to provide the participating contributors with a single point of collection for charitable contributions and to act as a responsible steward in the efficient and effective distribution of those contributions.

 

Gillian Ford Endowment Fund for Women’s Services
The mission of Women’s Services, Inc. is to meet the needs of women and children in Crawford County by sponsoring, facilitating, and developing programs that meet those needs. Their areas of expertise include providing shelter and counseling support to victims of domestic and sexual violence. This endowment helps to support their mission.

Hermitage House Youth Services Endowment Fund
Hermitage House Youth Services, Inc. provides residential rehabilitation services for troubled youth. By providing quality care in the form of support, discipline, counseling and therapeutic interventions, Hermitage House assists the youth in better navigating the path to adulthood. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

Red Matkovich Fund
An organizational endowment established in memory of Frank “Red” Matkovich. It provides youth scholarships at the YMCA of Titusville.

 

Meadville Area Recreation Complex Endowment Fund
Meadville Area Recreation Complex operates the George S. DeArment Ice Arena, the George J. Barco Aquatic Center, a skate park, tennis courts, nature trail, sand volleyball courts, picnic shelters, and baseball and soccer fields, providing exercise and leisure activities for the people of the greater Meadville area. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

Kathy Morrison Memorial Scholarship Fund
An organizational endowment established in memory of Kathy Morrison. It provides scholarships for adult women at the YMCA of Titusville.

 

NTMA Education Foundation Endowment Fund

The Northwestern Pennsylvania National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA) Education Foundation works to advance the tool, die and manufacturing industry in the region. They promote the availability and viability of manufacturing careers and provide educational support to people seeking the skills and training necessary for those jobs. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

St. Brigid’s Cemetery Fund
An organizational endowment established by St. Brigid’s Roman Catholic Church in 1968 and transferred to the Crawford Heritage Foundation in 2004. It provides for the maintenance of St. Brigid’s Cemetery (Meadville, PA).

 

Titusville Senior Citizen's Corporation Endowment Fund
The Titusville Senior Citizen’s Corporation works to assure that people sixty years and older remain active, independent, healthy and involved in the community. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

United Way of Western Crawford County Endowment Fund
The mission of the United Way of Western Crawford County is to educate the public with respect to health and human service needs and to provide the participating contributors with a single point of collection for charitable contributions and to act as a responsible steward in the efficient and effective distribution of those contributions. This endowment helps to support their mission.

 

YMCA of Meadville Endowment Fund
