Philanthropist Leaves Foundation $1.4 Million

Stuller02The Crawford Heritage Foundation has received the largest gift in its history from the estate of Blanche H. Stuller of Meadville. An initial payment of $475,000—of an estimated $1.4 million—was made in November. The money will be used to establish a permanent endowment. Each and every year, forever, a percentage will be granted to fourteen nonprofit organizations in the region.

The Blanche H. Stuller Fund benefits the American Cancer Society, Inc. (local chapter), American Red Cross (Allegheny Region Chapter), Crawford County Historical Society, Crawford County Humane Society, Emmanuel United Church of Christ (Meadville, PA), Huber Cemetery, Meadville Market House Authority, Meadville Public Library, Orchard Manor (Grove City, PA), St. John’s Community Church of God Cemetery Association (Meadville, PA), St. Paul Homes (Greenville, PA), Salvation Army (local chapter), The Wesbury Foundation (Meadville, PA) and YWCA of Meadville.

“This bequest commemorates the life of a person who believed strongly in giving back to her community. Blanche was an active volunteer and generous philanthropist throughout her life. The fund ensures that she will continue to help our area and will never be forgotten. We hope others will follow her example,” says Paul Huber, First Vice President.
