R. Budd Dwyer Scholarship legacy continues with the community foundation

The R. Budd Dwyer Scholarship Committee established the fund in 1987 as a memorial to the life and work of R. Budd Dwyer and worked diligently in the ensuing decades to raise money and provide annual awards. The volunteer committee recognized the need to ensure that the scholarship would operate in perpetuity and transferred administration to the community foundation in September.

The R. Budd Dwyer Scholarship is presented annually to a student who has graduated from high school and is a resident of the Blooming Valley Borough, Crawford County, and will be matriculating or enrolling in an accredited trade/technical school, two-year/community college, or four-year college in a program leading to a certificate, associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree. Each and every year—forever—we will distribute a percentage of the value of the fund for its stated purpose.
